Hi!
I'm Shivam, an Integrated Product Design Student at the University of Pennsylvania. I come from India and carry with me the essence of Indian innovation: making impactful yet simple solutions while using resources wisely.
I enjoy leading teams, public speaking, and playing badminton.
My personality as a product developer can be explained very well by my favorite product, Bajaj Chetak.

Way more than just an automobile, Bajaj chetak offered a wholesome experience. A symbol of pride, prosperity, and growth in the India of the '70s, Chetak ruled the roads for 36 years.
Chetak's advertisement said "Our future, Our present. The bold face of the bold new India, Our bajaj Chetak"

Chetak never sold as a vehicle, it always sold as an emotion. Owning chetak meant that people could step out of their home, do jobs other than farming and tap a share from the booming economy. However, roads were still a luxury in India so Bajaj engineered a machine that could take it all. Steel body with an extra wheel, chetak functioned as a robust commercial vehicle that rarely saw the face of garage.

Chetak's design also allowed it to serve as family vehicle, 'Big Indian Family' vehicle. People who had migrated to cities and rarely saw their family could now travel back to the villages and flaunt their ride.
The company tapped the emotional needs of the market to create an engineering and design marvel indigenously that was communicated so well that it became a status symbol and was always lovingly called "Our chetak" by the owners.
I look forward to create products like Chetak, that not just fulfill the needs of people but also enable them to grow. Products that bring joy and become a part of the family.
